This is The Petition Letter from Trayvons Parents :

Why This Is Important

On February 26, our son Trayvon Martin was shot and killed as he walked to a family member’s home from a convenience store where he had just bought some candy. He was only 17 years-old.

Trayvon’s killer, George Zimmerman, admitted to police that he shot Trayvon in the chest. Zimmerman, the community’s self appointed “neighborhood watch leader,” called the police to report a suspicious person when he saw Travyon, a young black man, walking from the store. But Zimmerman still hasn’t been charged for murdering our son.

Trayvon was our hero. At the age 9, Trayvon pulled his father from a burning kitchen, saving his life. He loved sports and horseback riding. At only 17 he had a bright future ahead of him with dreams of attending college and becoming an aviation mechanic. Now that’s all gone.

When Zimmerman reported Trayvon to the police, they told him not to confront him. But he did anyway. All we know about what happened next is that our 17 year-old son, who was completely unarmed, was shot and killed.

It’s been nearly two weeks and the Sanford Police have refused to arrest George Zimmerman. In their public statements, they even go so far as to stand up for the killer – saying he’s “a college grad” who took a class in criminal justice.

Please join us in calling on Angela Corey, Florida’s 4th District State’s Attorney, to investigate my son’s murder and prosecute George Zimmerman for the shooting and killing of Trayvon Martin.

This is a letter from a Mother. George Zimmerman killed her innocent child because of Racial Profiling. Haven’t We All Had Enough of This Madness ? It’s time to fix this Once and For All – End Racial Profiling in the name of Justice for Trayvon Martin.

News One: BREAKING: Trayvon Martin’s Brother Speaks Out

Heartbreaking report.

Racial Profiling is becoming so much a part of the worlds’ culture that we often excuse it’s consequences. yet this time the consequence is Murder. Can You Forgive Murder ? Can you turn the clock back in your mind to forget that Trayvon Martin was stalked on that cold rainy night in Sanford Florida. literally stalked, by a man with a gun. Why ? for being Black, Wearing a Hoodie and believing that He was as much an American; as his hunter/killer.

Trayvon Martin’s Death Leads To Closer Examinations of Shootings Nationwide

The story of Trayvon Martin’s death has gripped the nation’s attention for much of the last two weeks. While questions abound in Sanford, Florida as details slowly trickle out, Trayvon’s death has also prompted closer examinations of other, similar shootings around the country.

In Pasadena, California 19-year-old Kendrec McDade was shot and killed by police after they responded to a 911 caller who said he had been robbed at gunpoint by McDade and another young black man. According to police, McDade was seen reaching towards his waistline when officers opened fire from a close distance. He died after being transported to a local hospital, and no gun or weapon of any kind was found at the scene or on his person.

Pasadena police arrested Oscar Carillo, the man who called 911, and charged him with manslaughter for allegedly lying to police about the perpetrators having a gun. Local activists are now calling for an investigation by the Department of Justice, raising concerns about the legal regime that is giving rise to “shoot-to-kill” incidents:

Local black leaders said the event highlights the need for reforms in the Pasadena Police Department, and have called for the Department of Justice to investigate.

“With African-American teens, the perception is that they are all gangbangers, or they are all packing,” said Joe Brown, president of the Pasadena chapter of the N.A.A.C.P. “It does increase the instances of shoot-to-kill with law enforcement, and Pasadena is no exception.”

In Wisconsin, a second story has local leaders drawing comparisons with Trayvon as well. Bo Morrison, a 20-year-old black man, was shot and killed by a homeowner after he ended up on the homeowner’s porch while fleeing a police break-up of a garage party next door. The shooter, Adam Kind, was not arrested thanks to Wisconsin’s newly expanded “Castle Doctrine” laws, which, much like Florida’s “Stand Your Ground” laws, protect citizens who use deadly force if they feel threatened. Morrison, like McDade and Trayvon Martin, was unarmed when he was killed.

In each case, local leaders have begun campaigns to demand justice and changes in the legal system. In Pasadena, a group of civil rights leaders are demanding a meeting with Pasadena Police Chief Phillip Sanchez to discuss the exact details of the shooting, and in Wisconsin, over 150 people rallied in nearby West Bend demanding the state’s Castle Doctrine law be repealed. And this week, demonstrators in D.C. protested these so-called “kill at will” laws.

This is a news timeline from Change.org regarding Trayvon Martins’ Murder :
  1. New Zimmerman video: How seriously was he reportedly injured?

Newly emerged video reportedly shot by surveillance cameras at the Sanford, Fla., Police Department on the night of the Trayvon Martin shooting offers the public the first look at Martin’s assailant, George Zimmerman, on the night of the shooting.

ABC News, which obtained the video and released it Wednesday night, said it shows “no blood or bruises” on the handcuffed, trim- and muscular-looking suspect as he steps out of the back of a police cruiser, is frisked by an officer and walks escorted into the police building.

The quality of the video is not very high, but it appears to suggest that if Zimmerman was injured that night, the injuries were not serious.

Two lawmakers who crafted the Stand Your Ground Law say the measure doesn’t apply to the shooter of Trayvon Martin, a Miami teen shot by a neighborhood watch volunteer, and he should face charges.

“He has no protection under my law,” said Former Sen. Durell Peaden, one of the law’s authors, The Miami Herald reported. “They got the goods on him. They need to prosecute whoever shot the kid.”

Peaden said that when George Zimmerman told dispatch that he was following Martin he lost his defense under the law.

  11. Slain Fla. teen’s parents want FBI probe

The parents of an unarmed teenage boy who was shot and killed in Sanford, Florida last month are now calling on the FBI to get involved in the investigation.

Trayvon Martin’s parents have formally asked the FBI to investigate this case, because they believe local police and prosecutors have not done their job. The admitted gunman remains free – and this case has growing overtones of race and injustice.

Martin’s parents say recently-released 911 calls prove the shooter, a neighborhood watch volunteer, was not acting in self-defense, as he has claimed.

  13. Trayvon Martin’s father: Family ‘betrayed’ by Sanford police

In the 20 days since Trayvon Martin was killed, his parents said, their trust in the Sanford Police Department has disappeared.

Tracy Martin, father of the slain teen, told reporters today he felt “betrayed” by law enforcement investigating his son’s death because they have not arrested the shooter.

“It’s a shame that he’s [Trayvon] not getting any justice. We’re not, as a family, getting any closure,” the elder Martin said. “I feel betrayed by the Sanford Police Department and there’s no way that I can still trust them in investigating this crime.”

  14. 3 people say they believe Trayvon Martin cried for help before he was shot

Three witnesses contacted by The Miami Herald say they saw or heard the moments before and after the Miami Gardens teenager’s killing. All three said they heard the last howl for help from a despondent boy, and believe the sequence of sounds shatters the notion that Trayvon was killed in self defense.

As the controversy grows, so does the number of voices disputing the official version that watch captain George Zimmerman gave to police: that the 6-foot, 3-inch, 140-pound teen assaulted him when Zimmerman, 28, tried to question him.

  16. Witness: Sanford police “Blew us off” in teen slaying

Sanford Police said there was not enough evidence to arrest Zimmerman.

However, witness Mary Cutcher said she knew the truth. Cutcher said police only took a two or three sentence statement from her, but it took about 30 minutes to tell WFTV the story.

“The cries stopped as soon as the gun went off, so I know it was the little boy,” Cutcher said.

“Blew us off, and I called him back again and I said, “I know this was not self-defense. There was no punching, no hitting going on at the time, no wrestling,’” Cutcher said.
