Nunu Puss found dead in St. Catherine

The body of 41 year-old Christopher Miller of Upper Regent Street, Kingston 14, was found with gunshot wounds at Goshen Road, Bernard Lodge, St. Catherine this morning.

The CCN is reporting that about 7:10 a.m., a passer-by discovered the body on the roadway and summoned the police.

Close inspection of the body by investigators who went to the scene revealed multiple gunshot wounds. The scene was processed and the body removed to the morgue for post mortem. The Portmore CIB is investigating.

Dwayne McLeod, Staff Reporter- Popular deejay Vybz Kartel was released from the Horizon Remand Centre yesterday after being in custody since Wednesday.

The deejay, whose real name is Adidjah Palmer, was released some time after 5:30 p.m. at 14 Kirk Avenue in Havendale, St Andrew, the same place he was picked up by police on Wednesday. Police also raided the artiste’s home on Hacienda Way in Norbrook, St Andrew. Eight other persons, including DJ Karim and a policeman who is reportedly on suspension and acting as the deejay’s bodyguard, were detained with the deejay. They were also released.

bullet riddled body

In an interview with THE STAR shortly after being released, Kartel confirmed that the police had questioned him in connection with the death of Christopher ‘Nunu Puss’ Miller, whose bullet-riddled body was found on August 31 on Goshen Road in Bernard Lodge, St Catherine.

After the deejay’s arrest, the police were tight-lipped as to why he was taken into custody.

Similarly, Kartel said he was not briefed by the police as to the reason for his being detained until yesterday, when he was questioned by two detectives who he claimed afterwards declared that he should be set free. He said his hands were swabbed while he was in custody.

“Di day afta dem hold me, mi lawyer tell mi seh dem hold me on suspicion of murder. Di police demself neva tell me dat. As dem start question mi, dem si seh dis is a case dat is going nowhere,” Kartel said.

Since Miller’s death, rumours began to circulate that Kartel was somehow involved.

This, Kartel says, is just a rumour and attributed it to persons he says, who just want to paint a bad picture of him.

does not know ‘Nunu Puss’

According to him, he has a very good relationship with the residents of west Kingston and supports them in anyway he can.

Furthermore, he does not know ‘Nunu Puss’, he said.

“I don’t even know dat man. Di police acting on intelligence should a know dat to,” Kartel told THE STAR before adding that his involvement in such an incident would jeopardise his safety.

“Mi laugh at it when mi first hear cause Vybz Kartel, an entertainer weh ago stand up pon a stage a go do dat?” he questioned.

In explaining why the allegations are mere rumours, Kartel continued: “Mi mek some links and di man dem a seh nuttin like that. Me an nobody from that area nuh inna nuh vibes, me and di people have a good relationship. A jus somebody weh have something against Vybz Kartel a try a ting. Mi hear seh man all box mi and man come look fi mi. Nuttin like dat. People all a pose like man from west Kingston and a call all mi madda phone,” he revealed.

For this reason, Kartel says, he is not afraid.

“No man. Fraid a wha? A jus some people a try mek it look like Kartel a di evilest man inna di world,” he said.

Meanwhile, Kartel says as a result of the incident, he now doubts the ’system’ and plans to build a conscious tune to depict his feelings.

“Mi naw lie still, none a di officer dem neva abuse wi in anyway, shape or form but a now mi know seh nuff yute deh a jail innocent. If dem a go deal wid Vybz Kartel suh who have two lawyer, imagine how dem would a deal wid a ghetto yute. Dem would kick him and box him and hold him fi all 40 months. Mi plan fi build a conscious tune, mi a go style a song but it a go different. A nuh nuttin like When Shotta Go a Jail. Mi naw glorify nuttin, mi jus a go talk it how it go.”

Kartel is known for songs such as Money Fi Spen, Tek and Wine Pon You.

Who really killed Nunu Puss? (September 10 -16)

(ja x news)

The answer to that question could hold the key to the peace in West Kingston.
More than a week after 41-year-old Tivoli strongman Christopher ‘Nunu Puss’ Miller was killed, the uncertainty and speculation about his death seem likely to trigger a gang war.
Miller, of an Upper Regent Street address, was found with gunshot wounds at Goshen Road, Bernard Lodge in St. Catherine on the morning of Sunday, August 31.

XtraNews was reliably informed that a silent war between men from Rema (Wilton Gardens) and Tivoli Gardens could erupt into fullscale gang war, in the wake of an escalating blame game as to who killed the alleged cop killer.
According to sources in West Kingston, “Some lickle vibes a gwaan but a nuh wid Tivoli. A di man dem from Shooters Hill (Denham Town) and some man in a wrangling and people start say a Tivoli. A di man dem who run weh from Denham Town pedal Nunu a road and kill him.”
There are also allegations that ‘Nunu Puss’ was taken out by colleagues of murdered Rema gangster known as ‘Curry Cat’ whose body has not yet been found. He and another man were reportedly killed in 2006 and the man’s body deposited in a handcart, while ‘Curry Cat’ was chopped to pieces and his remains burnt.
Recently, a number of entrances to Tivoli Gardens were blocked with debris, reportedly in anticipation of attacks. Residents said up to Sunday night (September 7) they were hearing heavy gunfire in the area. Police sources have confirmed the residents’ allegation but said they were unable to say that there is a war going on between Rema and Tivoli.
“This is West Kingston and from time to time you will hear gunfire. Most of the time it is in adjacent areas allied to Tivoli Gardens, so people just brand everywhere as ‘Garden’,” said a police officer.
The police source went on to say that since the death of ‘Nunu Puss’ there has been a lot of speculation about his death.
“Some people are even saying that it is his cronies who killed him. It is Naggo Head man dem kill him over woman and even the police are being blamed,” the police source said.
When contacted, sources in Rema quickly dismissed the allegation of Nunu Puss’ killers being from the area, throwing the blame squarely at the feet of his cronies.
“A him own fren dem kill him. A something him do and dem get rid a him and waan blame odda people fi it. A waan dem waan come kill off Rema people now,” said the source.
One irate female Rema resident said she could not see why Nunu Puss’ death should trigger war.
“Nunu Puss a kill people from him eye deh a him knee and fi him time come now, suh wah di big deal? If unnu a go roun’ an kill innocent people, unnu mus’ rememba sey fi unnu time a go come too,” she vociferously said.

spanish town

Christopher ‘Nunu Puss’ Miller who was held and later freed for the killing of traffic cop Inspector Lascelles Walsh in 2005, was found dead in Dunbeholden, St Catherine, yesterday.

Police say Nunu Puss, of Upper Regent Street, Denham Town, was found with gunshot and stab wounds to his body. A vehicle he was driving was found burnt out in Portmore.

His death is one of three homicides the St Catherine South police investigated yesterday. About 10:30 a.m. residents of Zambia in Central Village, summoned the police to the community, where the body of Marcel Alexander, 24, a truck driver from Southborough, was found.

Shortly before that the body of an unidentified man was found in Caymanas Bay, just outside Central Village.

The division’s operations officer, Deputy Superintendent Clive Blair, said it was while the police were at Caymanas Bay they were called to Dunbeholden where they found Nunu Puss’ body.

Police placed Nunu Puss on the most wanted list after Walsh was shot to death as he rode his bike in downtown, Kingston on May 4, 2005. He was held but never charged.

‘FRIENDS’ KILLED NUNU PUSS?

(the star)

Amid the rumours surrounding the death of Christopher ‘Nunu Puss’ Miller, THE STAR has gathered chilling infor-mation that the ‘don’s’ demise was organised by persons close to him.

Miller’s bullet-riddled body was found on August 31 on Goshen Road in Bernard Lodge, St. Catherine. Before his death, he headed the police most wanted list in 2005 following the slaying of traffic cop, Inspector Lascelles Walsh.

Walsh was shot dead while driving his motorcycle in down-town Kingston on May 4, 2005. Well-known figures within western Kingston told THE STAR that prior to his murder, Nunu Puss was involved in a dispute with an influential person within the com-munity.

Violated subsequent orders

He was said to have also “violated” subsequent orders to settle the dispute, by disregarding invitations to speak with another very influential individual who was told about the dispute.

“A suh di ting set … Dem get rid a him because him neva want tek nuh talk … Him an a man did inna likkle toss up and him disrespect di man. Some other man hear and send fi him fi squash it but him neva want that so dem do weh dem have fi do,” Warrior, a known thug claimed.

Hearing the rumours

The police confirmed hearing the rumours about the reason for Miller’s slaying. They however say they are still investigating and are yet to establish a motive for his killing.

“We have heard of several rumours, we have heard of this one about the community, and we have heard of one that relates to a girlfriend,” head of the Major Investigation Task Force, Assistant Commissioner Les Green said.

Similarly, Deputy Commissioner Mark Shields who is in charge of the crime portfolio said:

“There are a lot of rumours concerning Mr. Miller’s death. We are still conducting our investigations and at some point we will gather enough information to conclude our investigations.”

Kartel was involved

There were rumours that popular deejay Vybz Kartel was involved in the death of Miller. Kartel, whose real name is Adidjah Palmer, was detained last Wed-nesday and released on Friday by the Joint Task Force which raided his home and studio in St Andrew.

Although the police were silent as to the reasons behind his detention, upon his release, Kartel confirmed to THE STAR that he was questioned in connection with Miller’s death. He denied any involvement.
