Congrats Mr Obama – now bring the Troops Home

Barack Obama – President of the USA; was Awarded the Nobel Peace Prize this Week. it seems to have shocked most of the media. We present two views of the controversy surrounding the Obama Peace Prize.
We Are AGAINST WAR – Remember MR OBAMA Where You Were when these Songs were Popular; as you’ve already said you know them.
you acknowledged that in your college days when you talked about your disdain for the Vietnam War and it’s implications.
Is Not Afghanistan – Vietnam 2009 ?
the troops are calling it that, and fyi Mr. President So Are WE.
WE hope that Mr. Obama considers the war in Afghanistan first, as it’s the PEACE We Most Need to Achieve. Nuclear divestment is an advanced goal and we agree with Lech Walensa who says, “So Soon.. what has he done” ?
we know that he has lofty goals, but we want to See The Troops HOME. Afghanistan is not An American Conflict; as Iraq was not. yet we still see record numbers of American soldiers dying in foreign lands in non American wars. Yet Mr. Obama Accepts the Peace Prize instead of turning it down as was the case with one of the nominees during Vietnam Fracas. that man is still more acknowledged for his approach to peace, than his so called co partner in peaceful negotiation; who Mr. Obama met with in-depth before he was elected in the summer of 08′ Hmmmmmm ?
Mr. President, Won’t You Let Afghans Die for Their Land – Americans Fought to Live in America Free; Not to Die in A Foreign Land. Bring OUR American Troops Home NOW Mr.Obama; the Afghans can and need to handle it for themselves, once and for all.
We hope that you enjoy our thoughts on the win
we also hope that you will join us in chorus demanding an end to the death of Americans in Afghanistan. it’s time the president stopped ignoring the sounds of the citizens of that red white and blue flag he walks under. it’s made of our blood, sweat and tears; and he should respect it and our wishes. elected officials so quickly forget why we elected them, but this time we need to remind him, quickly.
Congratulations Mr. Obama – Now demonstrate that Peace and bring the troops Home.

First just a short clip and links from CBS News – followed by a very eloquent piece by our friend Mr. Politicus.
In announcing the award, the Nobel committee said, “Only very rarely has a person to the same extent as Obama captured the world’s attention and given its people hope for a better future.” But others have wondered if hope is enough. Certainly there was audacity in this selection.

Obama’s Nobel Peace Prize Brings Out Usual Suspects
There is no doubt that the award of the coveted and highly-respected Nobel Peace Prize for President Barack Obama took practically everyone by surprise.
Considering the fact that it was so surprising and that it came only a few months into his presidency, some of the reactions were not totally unexpected, but the viciousness and blatant partisanship of some were as usual in bad taste.
The de-facto leader of the Republican Party Rush Limbaugh once again bared his teeth and growled: “He is not only the first post-racial president; he is also the nation’s first post-accomplishment president. He has risen above incompetence. He is now judged on wishful thinking. This fully exposes, folks, the illusion that is Obama.”
No surprise there, of course. What could one after all expect from Rush?
The pro-forma Republican Party national chairman, Michael Steele issued a statement that said that Americans want to know what the president has actually accomplished, adding that Mr. Obama will not be getting any awards for job creation or fiscal responsibility.
Some Palestinians say that President Obama would deserve the prize if he actually managed to make peace.
Former Vice President Al Gore said: “It is an honor for him, first and foremost of course, but it is an honor for our country. I think it is extremely well-deserved.”
Most European leaders hailed the Nobel committee’s choice. Many said the gesture should encourage people worldwide to work for nuclear disarmament and resolve regional disputes.
France’s President Nicolas Sarkozy said the prize is a tribute to Mr. Obama’s commitment to “tolerance and dialogue between states, cultures and civilizations.”
And Barack Obama himself has stated in his first reaction to the news: “To be honest, I do not feel that I deserve to be in the company of so many of the transformative figures who have been honored by this prize-men and women who have inspired me, and inspired the entire world through their courageous pursuit of peace, but I also know that this prize reflects the kind of world that those men and women, and all Americans, want to build.”
As for us: Congratulations Mister President!
