this is History and quite important as a historical precedent. This is the first time that a United States President;  who is directly an african decendant but not of Slaves;  Returned to the door of No Return – bringing his historical link to that terrible portal’s past – His Children and Wife who are decendants of Slaves.  this completes the circle of the golden triangle finally.

Barack Obama, the reggae song

In Ghana, they sing his praises but see him as a sign of the end times for America.

This has caused a controversy.

Blakk Rasta, a reggae artist in Ghana, created a stir with his song about Obama on the eve of the president’s visit there, which was kept low-key — unlike President Bush’s trip to Ghana last year where he spoke to 10,000 people at Independence Square.

Perhaps this sample will cause consternation among the NARAL diehards:

Barack beware! Barack beware! Barack beware!
before dem turn ya name into Barack Osama
In a dis ya time ,judgment a com without waata
For legalizing abortion in a america, a-fyah! fyah!

And Perez Hilton’s hair will turn back to its original color when he hears this:

Too long black people keep nyaming up horse hay
Wake up Obama and don’t join de band wagon of de gay

I have long suspected that one of the reasons people in the world hate us is not our conservatism or our materialism, but our liberalism. This is one sign of it.

The song was written and performed a year ago by a fan of his and its lyrics show that Blakk Rasta knows U.S. politics. The guy even threw a bone to the birfers. He performed for Obama, and he seems to separate what he does not like about America from its president.

A story about Blakk Rasta before the president’s arrival said:

Speaking on phone he said he would also ask for compensation and apologies from President Obama for our fore fathers that were enslaved in the slave trade.

That is interesting. Reparations for the continent that sold its people into slavery.

Rasta is 34 and his parents were Ahmadi-Muslim, which preaches the peaceful propagation of Islam. Pakistan and some other nations do not consider them to be Muslims.

His Web site said, “He is a vegetarian – no meat, fish, eggs, white sugar, flour, salt and anything animal.”

No flour. Top that, Dennis Kucinich.

I’m not making light of this man. He graduated from college at 27 (as did I) with a degree in land economy.

But I contrast his song with the merry tribute, “There’s no one as Irish as Barack O’Bama.”

One thing is certain, our president is a cultural phenonemon.
