A NINE-year-old girl pregnant after years of alleged sexual abuse by her stepfather is likely to abort twins she is carrying in a case that has shocked Brazil, reports in Sao Paulo said. The Brazilian girl, who was not identified because she is a minor, was found to be four months pregnant after being taken to hospital suffering stomach pains, the news websites G1, pe360graus and the Diario de Pernambuco reported. She was being cared for by a medical and psychological team in the Maternal-Child Institude in the northern city of Recife, close to her hometown of Alagoinha in Pernambuco state, they said. “We don’t know if she will develop the pregnancy up to the end because of the structure of her body. It is a big risk for her,” the doctor who confirmed her pregnancy before she was taken to the institute, Jose Severiano Cavalcanti, told the Diario de Pernambuco. “She doesn’t have a pelvis able to support a gestation of twins,” he said.

Teenagers gone wild
It is with growing concern that we observe the epidemic of teenage girls having sexual relations with bus drivers and conductors, not to mention their loose behavior on the buses. One cannot recall such reports during the era of the JOS transportation system – but when the mini busses, namely the ‘Quarter million’ and Encava busses came on stream, the girls just ‘bruk out’. This could be blamed on the perversion of drivers and conductors of these buses. During the 80′s to present day the buses are designed to impress and attract the young girls. They are colorfully designed with catchy names imprinted across the top of the windshield and have creative graphics done on the bodies. They are each accessorised with up to date audio and video systems which would belt out the latest songs at ear splitting decibels, much to the delight of all school goers. Girls especially were impressed with the added attention of bus conductors who would ‘talk them up’, usually not charging them any fare. It was especially ego boosting to be the one selected for the added attention, especially when one would normally hear the ‘ductors shouting, at each bus stop, “No schoolers!” but then be the one schooler to be smiled at and allowed entrance on said same bus. The poor girl could not help but be flattered. Now it has escalated. Girls are not as shy and easily impressed as they were two decades ago. Conductors no longer have to ‘talk up a girl’ as she would do the ‘talking up’ herself. Girls today would be the ‘selector’ on a bus as she will request each song that she wants to hear. Their uniforms are shorter and the pockets cut out for easy access for nimble fingers and other body parts as they ‘doubled up’, meaning girls in a boys lap when the bus is filled. Some of these school girls today are totally immoral and will do absolutely anything to gain the attention of the desired male. Eyebrows are sculptured, face bleached, or powdered, eyes lined and lips perfectly glossed, while in uniform! Just a few weeks ago while at a stop light I observed some female students in the back of a Hiace minivan which was vibrating with music. They were bouncing about in their seat arms and head swinging as they did the ‘dutty wine’, when the music ‘sweet’ them they clapped their hand and cursed badwords to show their excitement. When one girl caught me staring at them with obvious disapproval she just slammed the window shut and continued gyrating.
Snoop Dogg joins Nation of Islam
Snoop Dogg has revealed he has joined the Nation of Islam after appearing at the religious group’s annual Saviours’ Day event in Chicago. The rapper, who described himself as the “leader of the hip-hop community”, told followers he would share what he learned with other musicians. He told reporters that he joined the group because he was “doing what’s right and representing what’s right”. It preaches self-reliance for black people within an Islamic framework. At Sunday’s event, the rapper sat on stage while Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan gave a speech. He said afterwards that listening to the speech from Mr Farrakhan was “about a mirror – it’s about looking at yourself”. He added: “We’re doing a lot of wrongs among ourselves that need correcting.”
When asked if he had joined the movement he said: “I’m already in the Nation, that’s why I’m here. “I’m an advocate for peace, I’ve been in the peace movement ever since I’ve been making music.”My whole thing is not about really trying to push my thing on you. “It’s just about the way I live, and I live how I’m supposed to live as far as doing what’s right and representing what’s right – that’s why I was here today.”
He would not say when he had joined the Nation of Islam. Other rappers previously involved with the movement include NWA star-turned-actor Ice Cube.

Ziggy Marley Set to Drop “Family Time”

Ziggy Marley is gearing up for the release of this third album ‘Family Time’, set to be released on May 5 via Tuff Gong Worldwide. The family-themed record was produced by Don Was, and features a variety of family and friends including his mother Rita Marley, sister Cedella Marley, and his three-year-old daughter Judah Marley. Paul Simon, Jack Johnson and Willie Nelson also perform on the release, as does actress Jamie Lee Curtis who narrates two stories. According to Marley, the record “represents my daily family life and is inspired by my three-year-old daughter Judah and baby Gideon. It was a joy to make and opened up new avenues in my creativity.” A former member of the Melody Makers, Marley has contributed to a variety of children’s programming including Nick Jr’s ‘Dora the Explorer’, the PBS children’s show ‘Arthur’, and ‘Shark Tale’, in which he played the character of Bernie, the Jamaican jellyfish. Nas and Damian Marley to do a collaboration
Nas told Billboard last week he was cooking up a few surprises, and now we know one of them: an as-yet-untitled collaboration with reggae star Damian Marley. The pair has been recording quietly in Los Angeles for the last several weeks. Nas’ manager, Anthony Saleh, tells Billboard the project will most likely be released in the spring. It’s not clear which label will release it; Nas is signed to Def Jam, while Marley Records for Universal. “We’ve been recording in a studio, where people like Mick Jagger are recording. No one knew who we were,” Saleh says. “We’re going to Miami this week to finish it up and we’re aiming to tour for the album this summer.”

A DNA test will be performed to determine if a 13-year-old boy fathered a baby with his 15-year-old girlfriend, his spokesman said on Monday. The test comes after a Sunday tabloid newspaper reported that other teenage boys have come forward claiming to be the father of the newborn baby girl.
Spokesman Max Clifford said the parents of Alfie, 13, said the tests would be done “as soon as possible” to determine paternity. “He obviously believes he’s the father,” Clifford said. “I think that having read the News of the World yesterday, it would be prudent to have a DNA test.” The teenager’s 15-year-old girlfriend, Chantelle, gave birth to the baby girl earlier this month in Eastbourne, 70 miles (110 kilometres) southeast of London. The couple made headlines in Britain when Alfie, who looks much younger than 13, posed on the front page of the tabloid Sun newspaper with the baby. The local council where the teenagers live said it would offer them support and that they will continue to be monitored by social workers to determine what help they might need. Singer Amy Winehouse has publicly put her junkie days behind her – but has now made the strange decision to move to drug haven Jamaica! A source told ‘The Sun’: “She is looking and feeling so much better and is worried about the bad influences waiting for her back in London. She has written a big chunk of her new album and has told bosses she wants to go to Jamaica to record it.” Perhaps ex-addict Amy just can’t get enough of the hot weather – she is currently still enjoying her extended holiday in St. Lucia, where she has been since December. Singer Wino has been causing havoc in her hotel by stealing drinks from other guests, walking around naked and starting fights. She will have to return to the UK this month for administration duties, but will then head straight back to the Carribean. Producer Mark Ronson confirmed that Amy will be back to work on her eagerly-anticipated new record soon: “She’s got time pencilled in at a studio abroad soon.”
